Why do kitchen exhaust systems need to be cleaned?
Federal law requires that kitchen exhaust systems be cleaned regularly. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in citations from your fire marshal, and can even mean the loss of your insurance coverage.
How much does your service cost?
This question is impossible to answer without first examining your system and understanding the extent of the cleaning required. The type of system you have and the style of food prepared in your establishment can both have a substantial impact on the extent of the effort involved in cleaning your system. We’ll visit your location to evaluate your system and provide a free estimate. And we have a 100% satisfaction guarantee on every job we do – you don’t pay until you’re completely satisfied with the results.
What is involved in kitchen exhaust cleaning services?
As specified by the National Fire Protection Association, all components of the kitchen grease exhaust system, including the vent hood, exhaust ducts and grease fan, should be cleaned sufficiently. Just cleaning the parts of the system that you can see, such as the vent hood, is not sufficient under NFPA 96 standards.
After prepping the surface by manually scraping away excess build up, our technicians use a combination of industry-leading solutions and superheated water (around 220°F) to strip away any remaining grease. Every Kanela vehicle is outfitted with mobile water heaters, allowing our crew members to mix all solutions using our equipment – all we need is to hook into a water source at your location.
Can you do power washing and exhaust cleaning during the same visit?
Yes we can! Our crew members can also use our mobile water heaters to pressure wash the exterior of your establishment. We can power wash the full exterior, including sidewalks, parking spaces, dumpster spaces and exterior walls.
Are you insured?
We are fully insured and bonded. Unlike many kitchen exhaust cleaning providers, we carry Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning insurance. Unlike power washing insurance, KEC insurance is expensive and hard to obtain without credentials. A certificate stating liability coverage will not protect you if it is not for KEC.
How long will it take to clean our exhaust system? Will our schedule be disrupted when you visit?
Much like trying to estimate pricing, determining the time required to perform a cleaning visit depends on a range of factors, including:
- The time that has elapsed since your last visit
- The extent of the grease build up on your system
- The design and layout of your exhaust system
- The type of food that you prepare in your establishment
However, we only perform cleaning visits after hours to avoid any disruption in your schedule. Because we’re licensed and bonded, many of our clients provide us with keys and alarm codes for overnight access. If this won’t work for you, no problem. Just make sure someone is on hand to let us in, and we’ll do the rest.
